Family Friendly Recommendations
ALNWICK
The Alnwick Gardens and Lilidorei
At just over 10 minutes drive away from us at Middlemoor, we highly recommend visiting The Alnwick Gardens for a jam-packed day out that the whole family will enjoy. Explore the natural beauty of the gardens themselves, take a look around the largest wooden treehouse in the world and then try your hand at adventure golf!
Visiting with children aged between 2-10? We recommend paying the magical kingdom of Lilidorei a visit – it’s the latest addition to The Alnwick Gardens and is the largest play structure in the world! A combined ticket for The Alnwick Garden and Lilidorei is available for purchase.
Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle is a must-see for any avid Harry Potter fans. See if you can recognise some filming locations from the films! Then head over to the Artisan Courtyard to dress up in medieval clothing, take part in quizzes and see if you can defeat the mythical dragon at the end…!
Cragside
Visit Cragside House, which is not only a National Trust site but also the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity! With an adventure play area, rock garden and formal gardens, there’s plenty for the kids to enjoy here.
Bamburgh Castle
Visit the North East of England’s largest visitor attraction of the year (2023) to explore the fortress and see historic treasures. To see what’s on at the castle during your visit, check out their website here https://www.bamburghcastle.com/whats-on/
